inky moon

It's my first tattoo! I love it so much, I don’t' think I can really express it! It's on my back, on the left side, kind of by my shoulder blade, and it's my original design. Here's my sketch: [link]

I got this for several reasons. First, the moon is a symbol of the Goddess, and, more particularly, this moon phase (waning) is a symbol of the Crone aspect of the Goddess, a representative of great wisdom. I'm going off to college soon, and starting my new life, so I can use all the wisdom I can get! Also, as I just turned 18, graduated, and am now moving away, so this is kind of like a land mark on my life.
My last reason is that I just love tattoos!
